Dec. 27, 2016. A brand new High South Weddings magazine is here just in time for the holidays! The latest edition, for the 2017 wedding and events season, made its way to the High Country right before Christmas, and free copies are now available to the community and couples planning mountain weddings. We’ve been working hard on this publication over the past year to ensure it follows our true mission: to highlight and showcase the work of our area’s talented wedding and events experts, as well as the wide variety of beautiful venues here in the High Country.
Oct. 12, 2016. The cool, crisp feeling of fall weather made it just in time for the October edition of the High South Event Professionals’ monthly group meetings, which drew a great crowd out to enjoy dinner and drinks at Valle Crucis Vineyard. July 7, 2016. The High Country Press Publications team added a new magazine to its repertoire last fall, and its first edition has already accomplished something big. The folks at Martin Printing entered HSW 2016 into the race for this year’s Printing Industry of the Carolinas Awards, “a premier symbol of excellence in the graphics industry” of the region, where it was awarded Best of Category. One of the High Country’s newest venues opened its doors last week for a grand opening celebration, and guests who walked through them enjoyed a great evening of food and fun in a truly beautiful place. March 21, 2016. Bridal gowns, tuxedos, flower girl dresses and mother of the bride dresses were shown throughout the afternoon, giving the engaged couples and other guests in the audience a chance to check out what South’s has to offer this wedding season. Shortly after the show, Anna and Devin Ulery were on hand with Boone Photo Booth to capture some super fun moments with the all-dolled-up bridal and prom models.
March 21, 2016. Florists, consultants, caterers, bakeries, photographers, musicians, stylists, jewelers, rental companies and more decked out their spaces with examples of their work for potential clients to see. The annual expo allowed for many participating vendors and friends to catch up after a long winter, and gave some new folks a chance to get to know the local wedding and events community. Entry to the expo will cost just $8 per person, and brides who register at the entrance near Old Navy will receive a free printed gift bag and a copy of our new High South Weddings magazine. Proceeds from the expo will benefit a Hayes School of Music scholarship fund at Appalachian State established in memory of Jordan Howell Hallmark, a 28-year-old musician who lost his life in October. The open space houses her fully-equipped commercial kitchen and a welcoming retail space, which features a colorful environment, the chef’s favorite tunes in the air and an elaborate display of fresh-baked goodies.
