Aug. 24, 2012. Appalachian State University has received a $266,197 grant from the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad to implement a one-year exchange project between three schools in Watauga County and three schools in Taxila, Pakistan.
Aug. 9, 2012. Dr. David Kafitz, the new Watauga School Superintendent, and Steve Medlin, the new Caldwell Community College, Watauga Campus Director, updated the Chamber’s Education Committee on issues and programs important to the advancement of education in Watauga County.
Aug. 8, 2012. Watauga County Schools Associate Superintendent Scarlet Davis recently resigned from her position, effective Aug. 1, three years into a four-year contract and less than two weeks before the start of the new school year.
