May 14, 2013. The Friends of the Library will hold their annual Book Sale on Friday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boone Mall on Blowing Rock Road.

Sept. 5, 2012. Parkway school students who placed first in the state and sixth in the world in their division of the Odyssey of the Mind competition will make a presentation Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. at the Watauga County Library.
July 10, 2012. In preparation for the High Country Festival of the Book, Friends of the Watauga County Public Library will be hosting a Movable Author Feast Saturday, August 4 from 6-9 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Inn on Highway 321 in Blowing Rock.
June 4, 2012. Nora Percival, author of ‘Weather of the Heart’ and ‘Silver Pages on the Lawn,’ will officially introduce her third memoir, ‘The Whirligig of Time,’ at the Watauga County Library on Saturday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to noon. She hopes many of her enthusiastic readers will come to help her celebrate the new work, which creates a trilogy of books about the three critical periods of history through which the writer’s life has taken her.
May 17, 2012. The Dollar General Literacy Foundation announced today that it has awarded a $3,000 grant to Watauga County Library in Boone, NC. The funds will be used to further Watauga County Library’s summer programs for children and teens.
April 2, 2012. In celebration of the National Library Week, the Watauga County Library will be hosting several events April 8 to 14.
