Nov. 1, 2012. The Watauga County Democratic Party is hosting its 4th “cash mob” this Saturday, November 3. The “mob” will gather first for lunch at Joe’s Italian Kitchen, and then go hopping afterward at nearby Bare Essentials Natural Market.
Oct. 3, 2012. During the May 8 primary, Brenda Reese was the top dog of the Watauga County Board of Education runoff. Facing seven candidates, she received more than 20 percent of the vote. This shouldn’t be surprising, though, considering her 30-plus years as an educator in public schools.

Sept. 26, 2012. The Watauga County Democratic Party started out its third “cash mob” in Zionville Saturday morning, visiting David G Miller Farm Supply, where “mobbers” bought everything from rain boots and gardening hoes to fresh eggs. The group then crowded into Hill Top Drive-In for old-fashioned milkshakes and burgers.
Sept. 20, 2012. A slue of state-wide candidates are scheduled to attend: Current Lt. Governor Walter Dalton who is running for governor; N.C. Treasurer Janet Cowell; Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin, N.C. Auditor Beth Wood; and N.C. Supt. of Public Instruction June Atkinson.

Sept. 10, 2012. The Watauga County Democratic Party headquarters had its grand opening on Sunday afternoon, where folks enjoyed a hotdog and snacks and met with some of local Democratic candidates. Photographer Lonnie Webster was on hand and took some pictures.
Sept. 4, 2012. Nearly 6,000 delegates are taking part in the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte this week, and two of them are from Boone – Mayor Loretta Clawson and Council Member Andy Ball.

Aug. 27, 2012. The Watauga County Democratic Party “cash mobbed” another two Watauga County local businesses on Saturday, August 25, as a part of their “buy local” project. The owner of the Appalachian Antique Mall in downtown Boone reported that the “mob” spent “just under $2,000” in her establishment.
Aug. 20, 2012. The Watauga County Democratic Party is organizing another “cash mob” that will visit two Boone businesses on Saturday, Aug. 25. The Democrats have chosen the Appalachian Antique Mall in downtown Boone and the Mountain House Restaurant in New Market Centre to “mob.”
April 13, 2012. On Saturday, March 14, the Watauga County Democratic Party will hold it’s annual annual convention at the Watauga County Courthouse. Registration for the convention begins at noon in the top floor lobby outside of Courtroom number one. There will also be a luncheon prior to the convention.
