The annual Spring Hughlene Bostian Frank Visiting Writers Series will kick off on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. with Gina Myers: poet, editor and publisher. Gina Myers will present at 7:30 p.m. at the Table Rock Room located in the Plemmons Student Union at Appalachian State University.

Sept. 27, 2012. Writer Gurney Norman will read from his work Oct. 4 at Appalachian State University. Norman is the Rachel Rivers-Coffey Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing for 2012 in Appalachian’s Department of English.
Aug. 23, 2012. A look at urban farming opens the Hughlene Bostian Frank Visiting Writers Series at Appalachian State University for fall 2012. Novella Carpenter, author of “Farm City,” will speak on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s Blue Ridge Ballroom.
March 13, 2012. Poet and memoirist Toi Derricotte will give a reading on Thursday, March 22, at Appalachian State University in the Table Rock Room of Plemmons Student Union at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Hughlene Bostian Frank Visiting Writers Series. She will also present a craft talk titled “Poetry or Prose: Rethinking the Poetic Line” in Table Rock Room from 2 to 3:15 p.m.
