Sept. 26, 2012. Stress, anxiety and sleep difficulties are pressing problems facing today’s college students. Dr. Karen Caldwell, a professor in the Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling in Appalachian State University’s Reich College of Education, thinks practicing the art of Tai Chi can help students improve their quality of sleep and reduce stress.
Sept. 21, 2012. Two 12-week sessions of Tai Chi (Beginner and Intermediate) will begin on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center, instructed by Tim Winecoff.
Aug. 10, 2012. The local program unit of the National Association of Social Workers will meet Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at the Watauga County Public Library located at 140 Queen St., Boone to practice Tai Chi for self healing.
