April 24, 2013. Have you ever been to a roller derby game? Actually, the games are called bouts and if you haven’t you are missing out on a very entertaining and intense sport! The atmosphere is fun and family friendly and kids 12 and under receive free addmission. You can always find a facepainter, poster station and activities during the half time show for the kids.
March 20, 2013. The Appalachian Rollergirls, the local women’s roller derby team, is hosting a “Be Your Own Superhero” dance party fundraiser on March 23. The event will be raising money for the Appalachian Rollergirls to rent a van to transport the team to compete against the Vette City Vixens in Kentucky at the Vette City Rollerderby being held on April 6 in Bowling Green, Ky.
