Relay for Life of Watauga County will hold the 2014 Kick-Off event on Thursday, Feb. 6. The event will be held at Deerfield United Methodist Church on Deerfield Road in Boone. Registration and welcome will begin at 5:45 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Top Relayers and teams from 2013 will be recognized, along with Team Captains and teams who have participated in early registration challenges for this years’ event. June 17, 2013. On Friday, June 14, 36 teams comprised of Watauga County survivors, caregivers and supporters showed their dedication to the eradication of cancer everywhere with the Watauga County Relay for Life. This year’s Relay was a huge success, despite a windy start.

June 14, 2013. After months of fundraising, rallying and preparation, this is the day that they have all be waiting for. Thirty-six teams from all around the High Country area have gathered at Watauga High School for a day of support, remembrance and most importantly, fighting back against cancer at Relay for Life.

June 13, 2013. The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Watauga County will be held at Watauga High School in Boone on June 14. This annual fundraiser not only raises money for cancer reasearch, but also serves as a meeting point for supporters, survivors and caretakers and as a memorial to those who have already passed on.

June 8, 2012. The 2012 Relay for Life Survivors’ Celebration was held the evening of June 5 at Greenway Baptist Church in Boone. About 350 cancer survivors came together to celebrate their victories with good food, friends, speeches and a candlelight ceremony. The survivor dinner was the pre-event to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Watauga County to be held on June 15 and 16 at the Watauga High School football stadium.
