Spring is now in full swing (even if it is a little chilly) and that means that soon enough the local farmers’ markets will be gearing up for the 2014 season. The markets provide a rare chance to see where your food and other items are coming from, and meet all of the people in person who make it happen. So grab the family and your reusuable shopping bags and head down to your local market to see what your community has to offer.

Watauga County Farmers’ Market Currently Accepting Vendor Applications for 2014 Market Season

The start of a new year means brand new vendors present at the Watauga County Farmers’ Market. The market is currently accepting vendor applications for the 2014 Farmers’ Market season this summer. Each year, the board looks at the pool of applicants and decides which are most appropriate for the Farmers’ Market. Everyone who wants to be included must apply each year, even returning vendors from previous years.

July 25, 2012. Every week from May to October you will find quality locally farmed meats, organic produce, fresh cut flowers and hardy local plants, delicous edibles and a wide variety of crafts. Special events this Saturday include vermicomposting with Tracy Myhalyk in PHARMN’s Children’s Area.
