Nov. 26, 2012. Bill Owen, representing Fayetteville-based developer United Developers, appeared at the Nov. 15 Boone Town Council meeting to ask for a public hearing for his proposal of a multi-family affordable housing project on Clawson Street.

Oct. 22, 2012. The Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 1:30 p.m. The guild will meet in the conference room on the second floor of the Senior Center on Poplar Grove Connector in Boone. They will be making kits for donation quilts.

Aug. 10, 2012. The local program unit of the National Association of Social Workers will meet Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at the Watauga County Public Library located at 140 Queen St., Boone to practice Tai Chi for self healing.
July 31, 2012. The Boone Service League will hold its first monthly meeting of the 2012-13 year on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Deerfield Methodist Church in Boone. Light refreshments and fellowship begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting at 7 p.m.
July 23, 2012. Before Summer slips away, the Friends of Mount Jefferson would like to have a meeting. This meeting is an open invitation to all Friends members. The meeting is on Wednesday, August 1, 6:30 p.m. at the West Jefferson Town Hall, down stairs, in the front lobby.
