Learn how to take a closer look at protecting Medicare benefits from identity theft, detecting errors on Medicare statements and the process for reporting Medicare errors, fraud and scams.
Oct. 2, 2012. An Alzheimer’s information session on “Living with Alzheimer’s for Caregivers-Early Stage,” will be held Monday, Oct. 22, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center in Boone.
Sept. 10, 2012. The Harrill Senior Center in Boone will be hosting a health fair Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The event is open to people 60 and over and to people on disability.
Aug. 30, 2012. The next 12-week session of Yoga classes is scheduled to begin at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center in Boone on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and will meet each Tuesday from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Deadline to register is 5 p.m. on first day of class. Classes at the Western Watauga Community Center will begin Friday, Sept.14, from 10:15-11:15 a.m.
July 24, 2012. An Alzheimer’s Information Session about “Recognizing Pain in People with Dementia,” is Thursday, August 30 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center in Boone. This free session is open to everyone, including caregivers and professionals.
July 24, 2012. You’re invited to an afternoon of scrapbooking and tea on Friday, August 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center. Bring your own book and whatever supplies you have. The center has some supplies available for use, including blank “Creative Memories” 12 x 12 pages, markers and stamps.
July 24, 2012. Approaching 65? Confused about Medicare? Attend a seminar at the Lois E. Harrill Senior Center in Boone on Thursday, August 23, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. to discuss the basics of Medicare, supplements and drug plans. This event is part of the SHIIP Program (Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program) and is not sponsored by any insurance company or agent.

Conversations with Kay are held regularly across N.C. and provide an opportunity for members of the community to talk with her about their concerns.
