May 3, 2013. The Watauga County Farmers’ Market begins its 2013 season on Saturday, May 4. Along with the ever-present exceptional offering of local products, the Farmers’ Market will host cooking demonstrations by chef Clark Barlowe of Heirloom Restaurant, live music from the Produce Pickers and activities all day for the children hosted by PHARMN.

April 26, 2013. On Tuesday, local burger joint The Come Back Shack debuted its new burger known as “The Local.” This new menu item boasts beef that comes straight from North Fork Farm of Zionville. This small family cattle farm, started in 1993, has been supplying the High Country and beyond with beef, chicken, eggs and pork for twenty years.

May 4, 2012. The Watauga County Farmers’ Market will return to Horn in the West on Saturday, May 5, for the start of the 2012 season. The local bluegrass band Upright and Beathin’ will be providing live music for opening day. This year there are 75 vendor spaces. The Wednesday market, opening June 6, will also operate at Horn in the West this year.
