The Hospitality House Board of Directors and Hearts of Hospitality Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting the annual Hope Luncheon Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. Held for the third consecutive year at the picturesque Wats Gap Pavillion at Blue Ridge Mountain Club; this year’s luncheon, 30 Years of Hope, will celebrate thirty-years of Hospitality House providing a safety net for people in need while honoring the six founding churches for their leadership, vision and dedication.

The 2nd Annual Struttin’ Our Stuff Fashion Show, presented by Hospitality House, in conjunction with Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina, will take place May 9 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock. Benefiting Hospitality House and featuring fashions from Goodwill retail locations.
March 20, 2013. Are you hungry for The Hunger Games and can’t wait till November? Then come on out to Duck Pond Field on the Appalachian State University campus this Saturday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. for the Second Annual Appalachian Hunger Games.
Oct. 23, 2012. Thanksgiving is not the only day set aside to celebrate food. Oct. 24 is National Food Day. Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food culminating in a day of action on Oct. 24 every year.
Oct. 3, 2012. Five affordable housing developments received Housing North Carolina Awards on Sept. 27 and the Hospitality House in Boone was one of them. Sponsored by the N.C. Housing Finance Agency, the awards recognize outstanding affordable housing that can serve as models for other communities.
Sept. 25, 2012. The Hospitality House Board of Directors invites the communities of its seven mountain county region to join them on Friday, Sept.28 at 11:30 a.m. for their seventh annual luncheon. This year’s theme, Fifty-Two Weeks of Hope, will celebrate the restored hope, realized dreams and bright futures of people being served year-round by the Hospitality House.
Aug. 21, 2012. The 12th annual BIG Sale at Appalachian State University diverted 72 tons of material from the landfill and raised $21,690.62 for local organizations through the sale of used goods Saturday, Aug. 18. The proceeds of Saturday’s sale will benefit two local organizations: The Children’s Playhouse and a partnership between Hospitality House and NC AIRE that provides energy efficiency mini-grants.
Aug. 17, 2012. Mission and Outreach Commission of The Church of the Holy Cross in Valle Crucis congratulates the following charitable organizations, which have been designated as 2012 recipients of Valle Country Fair Grants.
Aug. 16, 2012. Hospitality House invites the communities of its seven mountain county region to join them for dinner and open house on Thursday, Aug. 23 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Hospitality House resident chef Allison Jennings, along with the Unitarian Universalist Church will prepare a wholesome meal for residents and community members.
May 18, 2012. The 2012 Feinstein Challenge has come to a close with Hospitality House surpassing its goal and raising $81,500 in their bid to eradicate hunger in the High Country. A record number of individuals, schools, businesses and churches came together to put Hospitality House over the top in food, funds and pledges.
March 23, 2012. “Community groups will join together this spring in a truly ‘groundbreaking’ project by planting a summer garden providing fresh vegetables for our residents,” said Lynne Mason director of Hospitality House which serves seven High Country counties. “We are also committed to offering healthy food selections and produce from our gardens will enable us to do this.”
