Nov. 5, 2012. A Nov. 14 electro-acoustic “Sculpture Concert” features student performers from Appalachian State University’s Hayes School of Music. The free performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Recital Hall. The performance is based on recorded samples which were collected by composition and theory students.
Nov. 2, 2012. The Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University is doing their job of keeping busy during the fall season. Their schedule includes student recitals, specific instrument ensembles and special guests such as saxophonist Paul White.

Oct. 29, 2012. Inspired by his high school orchestra teacher, Dr. Chung Park challenges his students to become “irreplaceable.” Park is the new director of orchestral activities in Appalachian State University’s Hayes School of Music. Park conducts the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, Appalachian Philharmonic and Appalachian Opera Theatre.
Oct. 29, 2012. Blazing Bassoons, a 12-member musical ensemble from the Hayes School of Music will perform Nov. 4 at Appalachian State University. The program begins at 4 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall on campus. Admission is free.
Oct. 11, 2012. The Watauga Community Band presents its Fall Concert on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Rosen Concert Hall in the Hayes School of Music on ASU. The concert is free and open to the public, however donations are welcome and appreciated.

Oct. 10, 2012. Enjoy an evening of woodwind chamber music Oct. 23 at Appalachian State University. Student musicians from the Hayes School of Music will perform works from the 18th to 20th centuries written or adapted for wind instruments.
Oct. 1, 2012. The Appalachian Symphony Orchestra will perform works by Mozart and Dvořák Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. in Rosen Concert Hall in Broyhill Music Center. Admission is free.
Sept. 28, 2012. A faculty recital honoring the late H. Max Smith will be held Oct. 16 at Appalachian State University. Smith was an organist and retired faculty member from the Hayes School of Music.
April 13, 2012. The 17th Annual Appalachian GuitarFest and Competition will be held April 13 to April 15 in the Hayes School of Music’s Broyhill Music Center. Tickets for the concerts are $20 for the general public and $10 for Appalachian students.
Feb. 17, 2012. BOONE — James Stokes leads a faculty trumpet chamber recital Feb. 28 at Appalachian State University. The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.
Feb. 16, 2012. BOONE — Trombonist Steve Davis performs with the Hayes School of Music’s Jazz Ensemble I on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. in Farthing Auditorium at Appalachian State University.
