Aug. 15, 2012. Gas prices have been yo-yoing up and down this year and today for the first time this summer, North Carolina drivers are paying more for a gallon of gas than on the same date last year, according to AAA Carolinas.
Aug. 9, 2012. On July 4 North Carolina gas prices hit a low not seen in almost a year in and a half. At present, however, prices are on the rise again and currently stand at 41 cents higher than the July 4 low point.

May 23, 2012. After months of High Country residents suffering with gas prices close to $4.00 per gallon, images of the $3.60 range are a relief. As summer draws near and travel picks up, hopefully prices at the pump will continue to fall.
