Nov. 8, 2012. Innocent until proven guilty carries a lot of weight if you are accused of a crime. But it can be a different story when state agencies seize the property or assets of those suspected of criminal activity. A procedure known as civil asset forfeiture allows law enforcement agencies to seize property or assets of a criminal suspect and proceed to have them forfeited.
July 11, 2012. Tommie Joe Booher, 38, of Sugar Grove, was arrested yesterday, July 10, and charged with one count of felony larceny of a motor vehicle. Booher is alleged to have stolen a vehicle from the parking lot of Walmart in Boone on June 6, 2012.

June 11, 2012. Harmon’s Dixie Pride, a historic building located at 471 W. King St. in downtown Boone, was vandalized with spray paint in the early hours of Saturday morning in an attack owner Bradford Harmon felt was akin to a hate crime.

May 17, 2012. Boone Police have charged a Chapel Hill, N.C. man with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony obtain property by false pretense. This was subsequent to an investigation into a break-in in the Blairmont community.
April 2, 2012. Sheriff Len D. Hagaman, Jr. reports that on March 29, 2012, at 8:01 p.m. Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to a shooting at 996 South Road, Todd.
March 13, 2012. An investigation was conducted by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office in reference to the shooting. The white SUV was located and a search was conducted on the vehicle. As a result of the investigation and the search of the white SUV two individuals were charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
March 12, 2012. Includes Incident Report! Daniel Wesley Miller, 33, of 178 Jake Miller Rd., Boone, was shot just after midnight, March 12. There are two suspects connected to the incident and their names have not been released by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Department.
Feb. 29, 2012. Brooklyn Lacrossa Canter, age 18 of Zionville, turned herself in to Boone Police and was charged with one misdemeanor count of aiding and abetting.
