Hip-hop collaborative “Free The Optimus,” will make a stop in Boone on Thursday, Jan. 30. Performing at Boone Saloon, Free The Optimus will be joined by A-plus of Souls of Mischief, C. Shreve the Professor, Quanstar & Evaready Raw, with an opening act from Greensboro MC, C. Pitt. Through their music Free The Optimus urges listeners to think outside of the box and to not be restricted by the status quo.

Oct. 15, 2012. Racial stereotypes, ethnic clichés and culture differences will be at the forefront on Oct. 17 as the Boone Saloon hosts one of North America’s most entertaining multicultural comedic showcases, “The Most RACES Show on Earth!”
Sept. 20, 2012. Swift Technique, Philly’s most explosive funk, soul and live hip-hop band, will be returning to Boone Saloon this weekend. Swift debuted at The Boone Saloon in the Summer of 2012 and will return to join local artists, Bubonik Funk.

When asked how much an audience really plays in the experience of a live performance, Caitlin Krisko, lead singer of the Asheville rock band, The Broadcast, believes that there is a symbiotic relationship that drives the band’s dynamic; creating a special experience that doesn’t happen every night.
July 30, 2012. Law firms representing Boone Saloon and Char in a lawsuit against the Town of Boone regarding the noise ordinance filed a request for a temporary restraining order against the enforcement of the ordinance.

July 6, 2012. Coming off of a successful start to their 2012 summer tour, Underhill Rose is hitting the road for a weekend set of shows that will see them perform in Hickory and Boone, along with a stop in Bristol, Virginia for the famed Border Bash.
May 17, 2012. From April 7 to May 1, the Boone Police Department received 7 noise complaints, six of which originated at the Boone Saloon and one at Paolucci’s. Four of the past month’s complaints ended with no action taken by the Boone Police Department. On two of the seven complaints, the decibel-reading machines malfunctioned.

May 15, 2012. Local salons, Haircut 101 and Shear Shakti, are teaming up with Boone Saloon for a Cut-a-Thon benefit on Wednesday, May 16, starting at 6 p.m., to support community members and friends, Serena Crawford and Jason Brown. Brown suffered a serious brain injury in late March which resulted in an extended time in ICU, hospitalization and now will continue recovery for as much as a year.

April 19, 2012. The Secret B-Sides return to Boone Saloon on Thursday, April 19, with their “cosmic enlightenment,” as band leader Juan Holladay describes his band’s message. The show starts at 10:00 a.m., and the cover is $5.
March 30, 2012. On Thursday, March 22, Boone Saloon and Char filed a civil complaint with the Watauga County Superior Court about changes to the noise ordinance that was put in place in February.

March 29, 2012. Jahman Brahman – the music’s not a cheesy as the band’s name sounds – and KinGator will perform at Boone Saloon tonight, Thursday, March 29. The cover charge is $5, and the show starts at 10:00 p.m. Expect a high energy performance and eclectic jams from both bands.
March 20, 2012. One of the great singer songwriters, Malcolm Holcombe will perform at the Boone Saloon on Thursday, March 22. The show starts early at 8:30 p.m., and the cover charge is $7. As always, expect a great performance. Holcombe is a one-of-a-kind who captivates an audience almost immediately with his guitar playing and songwriting.
March 1, 2012. BOONE – The Boone Saloon hosts Nomadic on Saturday, March 3. The jam, electronic and funk band headlines the show while Asheville-based Duende Mtn. Duo is the opening act. Duende Mtn. Duo features Will Stone on drums and Will Little on synthesizers and keyboares. Doors open at 10:00 p.m., and the cover charge is $5.
