Sept. 5, 2012. Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, festivities will begin for the 50th anniversary celebration of Art in the Park in Blowing Rock. The celebration will feature live music, original artwork from the 1962 Art in the Park and an awards ceremony for the co-founders of the event.

May 13, 2012. See the alphabet come to life on May 16 and 17 when Tweetsie Railroad transforms into the magical world of Letterland. Tweetsie and the popular reading program have teamed up for the past six years to provide a fun, educational event for all ages.
May 10, 2012. The 50th anniversary season of Art in the Park in Downtown Blowing Rock opens this Saturday, May 12, beginning at 10 a.m. at the American Legion grounds, and there are special events planned this season to celebrate their semicentennial.
April 25, 2012. The building may be gone but the memory lives on. The annual P.B. Scott’s Reunion Party, now in its seventh year, is a celebration of all that once was at the famous (and infamous) P.B. Scott’s Music Hall.

April 12, 2012. Tweetsie Railroad will open its gates for the 55th season of Wild West family adventure on April 13, providing guests with a golden chance for an early start at North Carolina’s first theme park. Tweetsie is sure to be an adventure for all ages, as the park fills each visit with Wild West action, rides, live shows and family memories to share for a lifetime.
April 11, 2012. Includes photo gallery and schedule of events! The seventh annual Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival begins Wednesday, April 11, and will run through the weekend. There are several events coming up for High Country residents to enjoy.

March 12, 2012. The Town of Blowing Rock Board of Commissioners will hold their annual departmental meetings on Monday, March 12, and Monday, March 19. Both meetings begin at 4:00 p.m.
March 3, 2012. BLOWING ROCK — This Saturday, March 3, Canyons Restaurant and Bar will host the Three Band Blowout. The three bands performing are Bafoodus, jazz-rock; The Get Downs, blues/soul oriented rock; and Upright & Breathin’, local award-winning bluegrass. The show begins at 8:30 p.m. There will be no cover charge and the show is open to all ages.
Feb. 29, 2012. BLOWING ROCK — The Town of Blowing Rock Board of Commissioners will attend an Intergovernmental Retreat scheduled for Monday, March 5, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Representatives from Watauga County, the Towns of Beech Mountain, Boone, and Seven Devils, as well as representatives from Appalachian State University will be in attendance.
Feb. 24, 2012. BLOWING ROCK — The “Weekend Warmup” is being held this afternoon. This is an opportunity to meet with friends and neighbors while catching up on developments at Blowing Rock’s Blue Ridge Mountain Club (BRMC). The event starts today at 4:00 pm. Beer, wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served at the real estate development’s Discovery Center, 1155 Main Street, Blowing Rock.
Feb. 21, 2012. BLOWING ROCK — A fundraiser for Lucas Crysel and family will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Canyons in Blowing Rock. Crysel was diagnosed with a massive tumor in his chest on Jan. 9 and the High Country community wants to help.
