Come sip, shop, eat and gather with friends and neighbors and celebrate Valentine’s Day with your favorite local merchants with Valentine’s Rocks in Blowing Rock. Enjoy special offers, one day sales and giveaways to kick off the spring season. Stores will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 and the party will last all day long. “There are around 20 participating stores in downtown Blowing Rock,” said Jess Wehrmann of Monkee’s who is coordinating the event. Dec. 6, 2012. The choir of St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church will present a traditional Lessons and Carols service Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. in the nave of the church. The church is located on Main Street in Blowing Rock, and everyone is truly welcome.

Blowing Rock Getting Into Holiday Spirit; Lighting of the Town this Evening, Annual Christmas Parade Tomorrow

Nov. 22, 2012. Blowing Rock’s Christmas in the Park and Lighting of the Town celebration starts today, Friday Nov. 23, with events starting at 2 p.m. Highlights include a visit from Santa, hayrides through the town, free hot cider and hot chocolate, caroling in the park, lighting of the town and bluegrass Christmas. And tomorrow on Saturday the Cristmas Parade begins at 2:00. Earlier this year Blowing Rock was one of a dozen locations selected by Travel and Leisure magazine for inclusion in its list of America’s Prettiest Winter Towns. The magazine’s editors said, “The Blue Ridge Parkway passes by this century-old mountain tow, whose Main Street has shops for antiques, crafts, even dulcimers.”
