Senior Candace Flowers (Charlotte, N.C.) poured in a game-high 18 points off the bench, and the Lees-McRae College women’s basketball team outscored Virginia Intermont College by a 36-16 margin in the second half en route to a 69-42 victory in non-conference play on Tuesday evening in Williams Gymnasium.
Dec. 10, 2012. The Brevard College women’s basketball team outscored Lees-McRae College by a 37-24 margin in the second half, overcoming a 33-26 halftime deficit en route to a 63-57 victory in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon in Williams Gymnasium. Brevard (3-5) won the battle on the glass by a 38-35 margin, including a 12-8 advantage on the offensive boards.
Dec. 10, 2012. Three players scored at least 20 points to lead the Brevard College men’s basketball team to a 109-100 shootout win over Lees-McRae College in non-conference play on Saturday evening in Williams Gymnasium, as the Tornados outscored the Bobcats by a 53-45 margin in the first half.
Dec. 7, 2012. Matt Kunz posted a double-double with game-highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lenoir-Rhyne University men’s basketball team to an 87-69 win over visiting Lees-McRae College in non-conference play on Thursday evening.
Dec. 3, 2012. Andrew Morris banked in a buzzer-beating layup in the second overtime period Saturday evening in Williams Gymnasium to lead the Coker College men’s basketball team to an 80-78 win in Conference Carolinas play, after battling back from a 14-point deficit late in the second half.
March 16, 2012. WILMINGTON — Appalachian State University women’s basketball picked up its first-ever WNIT victory in a 79-73 win over UNC Wilmington in the first round of the 2012 Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Thursday at Trask Coliseum.

CULLOWHEE, NC — Despite shooting 52.9 percent from the field and owning a 39-30 advantage on the glass, Appalachian State University men’s basketball was unable to hold onto an early lead in an 83-75 setback at Western Carolina’s Ramsey Center in last Saturday’s regular season finale.
