Carlton Gallery Commemorates 30th Anniversary with July 7 Fete and ‘We Celebrate Art’ Summer Exhibition

July 2, 2012. Art galleries come and go in the area, but one that has stood the test of time and continues to bring fine art to Western North Carolina is Carlton Gallery. From a small fiber studio begun in 1982, Carlton Gallery, a fine art contemporary gallery, is observing its 30th year. Carlton Gallery is commemorating its 30th Anniversary with a “We Celebrate Art” Summer Group Exhibition and Fete beginning on Saturday, July 7, 2-5 p.m.

June 29, 2012. The Equal Rights Amendment’s apparent demise occurred exactly thirty years ago this week – on June 30, 1982 – when an extended deadline for ratification expired. But like a corpse in a coffin that has surprisingly begun to breathe again, the amendment that would incorporate equality on account of sex in the United States constitution is showing signs of life.
