While the High Country is experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures this weekend, those visiting for some winter fun are still in luck. While all of the resorts aren’t fully open, sledding, skiing/snowboarding and ice skating are all options this Saturday and Sunday.
The Beech Mountain Sledding Hill
Cold temperatures graced the Sled Hill on Beech Mountain and the town was able to make some great snow. The Sled Hill will be open today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this weekend that looks to be clear and sunny.
More information call Buckeye Recreation Center at 828-387-3003.
Ice Skating at Appalachian Ski Mtn.
While skiing and snowboarding won’t happen on Appalachian Ski Mtn. this weekend because of the fluctuating warm temperatures, the resort’s Ice Arena will open for ice skating on a regular schedule for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with sessions offered from 12-2 p.m., 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
