Sept. 8, 2014. Appalachian State University accepted the resignation of women’s basketball head coach Darcie Vincent today.

“I thank the University and the Appalachian State family for the great experience I’ve had here,” Coach Vincent said. “And I wish the young women the best in the upcoming season.”

“I wish Coach Vincent the best in her future endeavors,” Appalachian State interim director of athletics Rick Beasleysaid. “Our full focus at this point is on the student-athletes in our women’s basketball program and giving them the best opportunity to continue to succeed on and off the court this season and beyond.”

An interim head coach will be named as soon as possible and a national search for a permanent replacement will begin immediately.

Vincent was 117-75 in six seasons at Appalachian State. Her teams won two Southern Conference regular-season championships (2011 and 2012).
