TV/Radio Notebook: App State TV Media Day on ESPN3 on Aug. 6, See List of Stations

App State TV’s annual Appalachian State University Football Media Day telecast will be carried exclusively on ESPN3 next Thursday, Aug. 6. The live two-hour Media Day show begins at 9 a.m.

Hosted by the Appalachian IMG Sports Network’s David Jackson, Randy Jackson and Karl Anderson, App State TV’s Media Day telecast will include a wide variety of interviews with Appalachian State football student-athletes and coaches and an exclusive sit-down with director of athletics Doug Gillin.

ESPN3, ESPN’s online platform, is available in over 100 million homes nationwide. ESPN3 is also available through Xbox LIVE and on smartphones, tablets and Apple TV via the WatchESPN app. Check with your internet or mobile service provider to see if you receive ESPN3 programming.

RISE: APPALACHIAN STATE FOOTBALL TO AIR ACROSS WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA: Another App State TV production, Appalachian State football’s weekly television show entitled RISE: Appalachian State Football makes its 2015 debut on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The behind-the-scenes look at the Mountaineers is set to air on two western North Carolina television outlets — WHKY-TV 14.1 (Hickory, Boone, Statesville, Charlotte) on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and WXII-TV 12.2 Me TV (Triad, Yadkinville, Wilkesboro) on Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m.

APPALACHIAN IMG SPORTS NETWORK RADIO AFFILIATES SET FOR 2015-16: Appalachian IMG Sports Network radio programming can be heard on 17 stations in 2015-16. The 17 affiliates give the network reach into five states (North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia).

MOUNTAINEER TALK MOVES TO TUESDAY: Mountaineer Talk, the Appalachian IMG Sports Network’s weekly coaches call-in show, moves to Tuesdays for the 2015 football season. The first Mountaineer Talk of the year airs on Tuesday, Aug. 25, live from The Rock Sports Bar and Grill in Boone.

Mountaineer Talk airs from 7-8 p.m. and is hosted by David Jackson with weekly guest appearances by head coach Scott Satterfield, selected Mountaineer student-athletes and Appalachian State Hall of Famer Steve Brown, who will provide weekly insight and analysis while breaking down the upcoming opponent.

Mountaineer Talk can be heard on stations across the Appalachian IMG Sports Network. Following football season, the show shifts to Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone for the heart of the basketball campaign with weekly appearances by men’s basketball head coach Jim Fox and women’s basketball head coach Angel Elderkin.

AROUND THE MOUNTAIN RETURNS MONDAY: Around The Mountain, the Appalachian IMG Sports Network’s daily look at what’s happening in Appalachian State athletics, returns to the airwaves on Monday, Aug. 3.
