The Appalachian IMG Sports Network Announced Enhancements to Weekly Television and Radio Shows

Aug. 22, 2013. With football season right around the corner, the Appalachian IMG Sports Network announced enhancements to its weekly television and radio gridiron shows on Wednesday.

On the television front, the weekly show formerly known as Appalachian Football Weekly has been reborn as Always Attack: Inside Appalachian State Football. The format of the 30-minute show has also been revamped, as Always Attack: Inside Appalachian State Football will take viewers behind the scenes of Appalachian’s gridiron program through exclusive interviews and access to the meeting rooms and practice fields as the mountaineers prepare to take on a new opponent each week.

Always Attack: Inside Appalachian State Football debuts on Friday, Aug. 30, at 4:30 p.m. and will air every Friday at 4:30 p.m. throughout the season on SportSouth. It can also be seen weekly across the nation on Fox College Sports on a yet-to-be-determined day and time. Beginning on Friday evenings, premim subscribers can also watch the show on App State TV.

Mountaineer Talk, the Appalachian IMG Sports Network’s weekly radio show, makes its 2013 debut on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. The hour-long call-in show can be heard every Thursday throughout the season on the following Appalachian IMG Sports Network affiliates, as well as online at appstatesports.com: 

  • WKBC 97.3 FM — North Wilkesboro, Charlotte, Hickory, High Country
  • WATA 1450 AM — Boone, Blowing Rock
  • ESPN 730 AM — Charlotte
  • Triad Sports Network (1200, 1230 and 1320 AM) — Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Burlington
  • 620 AM The Buzz — Durham, Raleigh
  • WCMC-FM HD-3 — Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill
  • WZGM 1350 AM — Black Mountain, Asheville
  • WLON 1050 AM — Lincolnton

The first two weeks of Mountaineer Talk will originate from the Appalachian IMG Sports Network studios before moving to its new home at The Rock Sports Bar and Grill in Boone on Sept. 5. Fans are invited to come out to The Rock, located in the Wal-Mart shopping center on Blowing Rock Road, to join the “Voice of the Mountaineers” David Jackson and head coach Scott Satterfield as they break down the previous week’s game and the Mountaineers’ upcoming opponent.
