June 2, 2014. Starting on Thursday, June 5, the 91st annual Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show: American Saddlebred Division will take place at the L.M. Tate Horse Show Grounds at the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve.
From June 5-8, the Saddlebred Division competition will take place. The horse show, which is proudly hosted by the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show Foundation, also includes two weeks of Hunter & Jumper competition July 22-July 27 and July 29-Aug. 3.
Ticket cost at the gate for spectators is just $10 per day per person and admission supports the Blowing Rock Rotary Cub. Children under 12 receive free admission.
Aside from the equine entertainment, the horse show will also host various vendors. Items for sale include jewelry, clothing, gift items, photographs and paintings and souvenirs. Vendors will also be selling food items for purchase.
Considered the highlight of the Blowing Rock summer season, the three weeks of horse shows which include the American Saddlebred Division and the Hunter & Jumper Divisions, will bring more than 600 horses to the High Country to compete.
The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Foundation is proudly run by dozens of volunteers who dedicate their time to raise funds for organizations such as Blowing Rock Fire & Rescue, Blowing Rock Rotary Club, Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, Danny & Ron’s Rescue, Saddlebred Rescue, Watauga County Humane Society and Appalachian State University Equestrian Team.
