Feb. 5, 2013. For the fourth year in a row, Appalachian Ski Mountain will be hosting renowned Screamer-sponsored snowboarder Meg Pugh for Ladies Park Night on Saturday, Feb. 9.
“I am really excited about coming back for the all-women’s park event at Appalachian Ski Mountain,” Pugh said. “I can’t wait to check out all the new features and pump up the local ladies.”
Pugh’s most recent accolades came when she placed first in slopestyle and second in the halfpipe at the Killington Pro Test in 2012 in Killington, Vt.
During her career as a snowboarder, Pugh has won quarterpipe championships, highest airs, placed third in the World Superpipe Championships, competed in the X-Games three times, and earned a fifth place at the Vans Cup. She has also started up a successful resort snowboard team, coached summer camps and designed and produced pro-model products. Her sponsors include Screamer Hats, Gnu, Bern, Perl Wax, Spy, Vans, Snowmasons, and MPEGltd.
“She has an amazing presence in the park,” said Brenda Speckmann, of App Ski Mountain. “She is super-enthusiastic and spends a couple of hours coaching the girls and the ladies in the park.”
For this year’s Ladies Park Night, a custom terrain park area with features specifically designed for learning and progression is set up and offered to ladies exclusively. In addition to Pugh, trick tip coaches will be on hand for the event to offer advice and guidance if needed. These sessions are open to women of all age and ability, both skiers and snowboarders.
Screamer Hats is teaming up with App Ski Mountain to put on this great session for the Ladies.
The Alpine Ski Shop is partnering with Screamer to sponsor Pugh’s fourth year coaching Ladies Park Night.
