Now in its 53rd year, App Ski Mtn. is selling ski and snowboard tickets for day sessions on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6 and 7, for $5, which is how much it cost to ski decades ago. The day session is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Five dollars for ski tickets is huge,” said Drew Stanley of Appalachian Ski Mtn.

Right now, App Ski Mtn. has nine of its 12 trails open and a solid base of 20 to 50 inches, which is more than the resort historically has for early December.

In addition to rolling back prices, App Ski Mtn. is offering a “Sunday Half-Night Special.” On the first Sunday of December, January, February and March, night session tickets will cost only $10. The night session takes place from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

The first Sunday of December is coming up on Sunday, Dec. 7.
