May 19, 2014. The Climbing and Adventure Camp for ages 8 and up is designed to give participants an opportunity to experience a variety of land-based activities unique to our area. Meeting each morning at Rock Dimensions’ location in downtown Boone, the camp includes climbing on the outdoor climbing tower at Footsloggers, climbing out on real rock in several different areas of the High Country, rappelling, caving and high ropes/challenge course with a zipline and giant swing.
Small group sizes, individualized challenges and engaging activities are part of what makes Rock Dimensions’ summer camps memorable and rewarding for campers.
Summer 2014 has four seasons of camp: June 23-27, July 7-11, July 21-25 and Aug. 4-8. Cost is $475 for the full week. Family discounts are offered for two or more siblings. Partial week options are available at a pro-rated cost.
The intermediate climbing camp is for ages 11 and older. This five-day camp is for kids and teens that have a little more experience climbing outdoors. Campers will experience a variety of climbing styles, including top-roping traditional single-pitch, multi-pitch bouldering and sport climbing. The camp will follow a progression of skills, designed to be flexible and allow for more individualized instruction. The last day will culminate in a fun and challenging high ropes/challenge course experience. Small instructor to camper rations help to make the camp appropriately challenging. Summer 2014 has two sessions: July 14-18 and July 28-Aug. 1. Cost is $500 for the full week. Partial week options are available at a pro-rated cost.
Campers bring their own lunch, water, snacks and clothing/footwear appropriate for the activity. Transportation and all climbing/caving/challenge course equipment are provided. Times are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for both camps. Participants will meet at the Footsloggers Climbing Tower in downtown Boone each day.
