App State Athletics experienced a 100-percent increase in Yosef Club memberships over the opening week of football ticket sales in 2015.

In the first week that 2016 Appalachian State University football tickets were available, Appalachian State set opening-week records for season-ticket sales, Yosef Club donations and Yosef Club memberships.

Despite Monday’s Martin Luther King Day holiday and Friday’s University closure due to Winter Storm Jonas, last week’s ticket and Yosef Club revenue were both all-time highs for the first week of football season-ticket sales. However, perhaps the most impressive number was a better than 100-percent increase in Yosef Club memberships over the opening week of football ticket sales in 2015.

“With the increased costs associated with competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics, including the implementation of full cost of attendance for many of our student-athletes beginning in 2016, we could not provide a world-class experience for our student-athletes without the generous support of those who buy tickets and join the Yosef Club.” Appalachian State director of athletics Doug Gillin said. “In addition to providing a world-class experience for our student-athletes, the revenue that comes from ticket sales and Yosef Club memberships also helps us continue to enhance the gameday experience for the Black and Gold faithful that pack The Rock to support the Mountaineers every fall.”
