The public is invited to watch tryouts for the High Country Grizzlies on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Hardin Park School. The tryouts take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The High Country Grizzlies are part of the Arena Development League and will play home games inside the Holmes Convocation Center on the campus of Appalachian State University beginning next spring.
In the past few weeks, the Grizzlies have announced player signees, which include college football stars and those who’ve had the opportunity to participate in rookie camps for NFL teams, and early-bird promotions for season-ticket holders.
Currently, season tickets feature a price discount and all season ticket holders automatically become members of the Den Club and receive a membership card that gives you access to discounts at establishments across the High Country.
General admission season tickets cost $54; the promotion ends Nov. 1 at which time the price is upped to $72. Reserved seating season tickets cost $81; the promotion ends Nov. 1, at which time the prices becomes $108.
Season tickets include six home games between March 25 and May 28. This is a slow-time of year for the High Country’s tourism-based economy and is expected to fill the void between holiday ski season and summer excursions on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
