Nov. 13, 2013. With the temperatures downright chilly, Appalachian Ski Mountain “fired up” the snow guns on Tuesday afternoon, blasting snow across the Blowing Rock ski resort.

See some awesome photos by Drew Stanley, the marketing director with Appalachian Ski Mountain, of the snow that blankets the resort on Wednesday morning below.

“With a low last night in the mid-teens, and round-the-clock snowmaking through Thursday morning, a considerable base should be built on several slopes,” a post notes on the resort’s webpage. “Another cold front is forecasted to pass through early to mid-next week, which should allow for additional snowmaking and great conditions for our scheduled opening day.”

App Ski Mountain is scheduled to open on Friday, Nov. 22.

On Saturday, Nov. 23, the App Terrain Park and STZ will host an opening weekend contest to kickoff the season. The event will offer tons of prizes including cash with a game of SNOW format for finals.
