Feb. 5, 2013. With a base of 42 to 84 inches of snow – including 11 inches from last weekend’s storm, the conditions at Sugar Mountain Resort were perfect for the weekly Monday night races known as SMARL – Sugar Mountain Adult Race League.
Cindy Broussard is on one of the two Banner Elk Cafe and Lodge Espresso Bar Eatery teams.
“I though the conditions were nice,” Broussard said. “We went out and did runs afterwards cause it was so pretty.”
Sugar Mountain Resort’s team , as usual is leading the pack four weeks into the league, but the Banner Elk Cafe team is in a close second – just two points from the top.
