Offensive lineman Will Corbin became the third member of Appalachian State University’s 2014 football squad to join the National Football League ranks on Tuesday when he signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

Corbin, a 6-6, 305-pounder, saw action in 34 games as a Mountaineer. He arrived at Appalachian State as a defensive lineman but after redshirting in 2010, he switched from defense to offense midway through his redshirt-freshman campaign in 2011. He moved into the starting lineup for the third game of his sophomore season in 2012 and went on to start 20 of the next 21 games at right tackle.

As a senior in 2014, he came off the bench to see action in nine games at guard and tackle and earned a job grade of 78 percent and a technique grade of 84 percent for the season. He was credited with 11 knockdowns in 293 snaps and did not surrender a sack all season.

Corbin graduated from Appalachian State in December 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts and imaging technology.

He is the third former Mountaineer to sign an NFL contract as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Offensive linemanKendall Lamm and defensive back Joel Ross agreed to terms with the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys, respectively, immediately following the conclusion of the 2015 NFL Draft on May 2.

Appalachian State is now represented by 11 former student-athletes currently in the NFL: running back Travaris Cadet (New England Patriots), Corbin, offensive lineman Daniel Kilgore (San Francisco 49ers), Lamm, punterSam Martin (Detroit Lions), defensive back Demetrius McCray (Jacksonville Jaguars), wide receiver Andrew Peacock (Detroit Lions), wide receiver/defensive back DeAndre Presley (Carolina Panthers), wide receiver Brian Quick (St. Louis Rams), Ross and wide receiver Tony Washington (Jacksonville Jaguars).
