THE MOUNTAIN CLASSIC: BOONE’S FIRST DUATHLON (SWIM & 5K RUN)
100% of proceeds from the event will support youth and families served by Western Youth Network
May 10, 2014 – Boone, NC – On Saturday, May 10th starting at 9am The Mountain Classic, sponsored by the Paul H. Broyhill Wellness Center, will be the first Boone Duathlon combining a 250 yard swim and 5K run. The Duathlon starts at the Broyhill Wellness Center swimming pool located at 232 Boone Heights Dr, Boone.
100 percent of proceeds from the event will support youth and families served by Western Youth Network.
At the event, attendees will begin with a 250 yard/10 lap swim and then transition in the Broyhill Wellness Center parking lot to a 5K run on the Greenway Trail. The run will finish on the Greenway Trail at the parking lot/picnic area. Light refreshments will be available at the completion of the run. All participants will receive t-shirts. No formal prizes will be awarded, but times will be recorded. Online registration only at www.imathlete.com/events/MountainClassic by Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Registration fee is $40.00.

Western Youth Network is a relationship-focused resource for youth and families in the High Country. Through prevention and intervention programs, WYN specializes in providing youth with the tools they need to reach their potential and discover their place in our community and in our world. Working to this end, WYN provides Substance Abuse Prevention Programs, After School, Mentoring, and Summer Day Camp to over 200 youth and their families in the High Country each year.
