The official Senior Bowl watch list identifies 309 players under consideration to be one of the 100 invitees to the 2013 Senior Bowl, which is widely regarded as college football’s preeminent all-star game and NFL Draft showcase. Of the 309 players on the watch list, McCray is one of just 29 from non-FBS programs.

Only two Mountaineers have played in the 63-year history of the Senior Bowl — wide receivers Dexter Jackson (2008) and Brian Quick (2012). Both went on to be second-round NFL Draft picks.

McCray led the SoCon and tied for eighth nationally with five interceptions in his first season as a full-time starter in 2011, en route to fourth-team all-America accolades from Phil Steele Publications. The 6-0, 185-pounder also tied for 12th nationally with 14 passes defended as a junior and ranked fifth on the Mountaineers with 48 tackles from his right cornerback position.

The 2013 Senior Bowl is set for January 26, 2013 in Mobile, Ala. Invitations to participate will be extended to college seniors throughout the fall.
