Nov. 25, 2013. Just in time for Thanksgiving, Appalachian Ski Mtn. opens for the 2013-14 winter season on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and the first 100 guests to the ticket window on opening day receive a free ski ticket.
“Opening day will offer more terrain and a deeper base than ever before in our history! Our 52nd season will begin with a bang, riding on 9 slopes, including 2 terrain parks,” a brief release on the resort’s website states.
Ice skating also starts on Wednesday, too, with three sessions: 12 to 2 p.m., 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The resort began blasting snow nearly two weeks ago after the first sustained, cold snap after Halloween occurred.
