Coming off a huge win against the Dayton Wolfpack on Saturday, The High Country Grizzlies are looking to keep their momentum rolling this Sunday, April 9 when they face off against the Jacksonville Sharks at the Holmes Convocation Center. After coming up a bit short to the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks in their March 25 matchup, the Grizzlies regained their composure with a massive 94 – 6 victory over the Wolfpack, giving the High Country team a boost that will prove necessary when facing the undefeated Jacksonville Sharks on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Now with three games under their belt, the Grizzlies seem to have found a groove in the league. Saturday’s matchup saw four touchdowns from Grizzlies standout and former ASU wide receiver Malachi Jones and one rushing and seven throwing touchdowns from Grizzlies quarterback Stephen Panasuk. By the end of the first half, the Grizzlies had also charted four interceptions and eight sacks of Wolfpack quarterback James Moreland.
With a successful first half in the books at halftime, the Grizzlies set their sights on maintaining dominance for the remainder of the game.
“One of the main things we were working on in the second half was to stay composed, don’t fall down to stupid penalties and to finish; don’t stop,” Grizzlies head coach Josh Resignalo said.
By the end of the game, the Grizzlies had clearly accomplished that task. The team now hopes that the 94 – 6 victory will prepare them to take on the undefeated Sharks on Sunday. The Sharks (3 – 0) are currently tied with the Monterrey Steel (3 – 0) for first place in the National Arena League.
