The Yosef Club, Appalachian State University athletics’ fundraising arm, generated an all-time record of $3,006,864 in annual giving during the 2014-15 fiscal year, director of athletics Doug Gillin announced on Friday.

Thanks to generous support from Yosef Club members, last year’s donations broke the previous record that was set in 2012-13.

“Setting an all-time record in annual giving is a great achievement for Appalachian State athletics and the Yosef Club,” Gillin said. “Such an achievement wouldn’t be possible without the enthusiastic support of the App Nation. We thank Yosef Club members for providing our student-athletes with the opportunity to excel in the classroom and on the fields of play.”

In addition to Yosef Club members, the organization’s volunteers and staff played a big part in the record-breaking year. In particular, former Appalachian State deputy athletics director Rick Beasley worked tirelessly to reach the record-breaking goal, especially in his final weeks on the job. Beasley retired from the University on June 30, which was also the final day of the fiscal year.

“The work put in by Rick, the entire athletics development staff, Yosef Club advisory board and president Eric Hollifield, as well as, our volunteers across the region cannot be overstated,” Gillin said. “A huge thanks goes out to them for all that they do for Appalachian State and our student-athletes.”
