Aug. 30, 2013. The fireworks display that was postponed following Appalachian State University’s soggy Fan Fest on Aug. 17 will now be held following the conclusion of the Mountaineers’ home opener versus North Carolina A&T on Sept. 7 at Kidd Brewer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
The fireworks display will begin shortly after the conclusion of the contest between Appalachian State and N.C. A&T. Following the pyrotechnics, fans are encouraged to stay in the stands for postgame concerts by the North Carolina A&T and Appalachian State marching bands (the Blue & Gold Marching Machine and North Carolina’s Band of Distinction, respectively).
Tickets still remain for the Sept. 7 home opener at The Rock and can be purchased online at appstatesports.com, by phone at (828) 262-2079 and in person at the Appalachian State athletics ticket office, located in the Holmes Center. In addition to the postgame fireworks display, Appalachian will also celebrate its annual Hall of Fame Day as part of the 2013 home opener. The newest class of Hall of Fame inductees will be honored during the game, including former Mountaineer football stars Kevin Richardson and Jay Sutton.
