Bobcats Ranked Ninth in NSCAA Southeast Region Poll

Oct. 17, 2012. KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Lees-McRae College women’s soccer team is ranked ninth in this week’s NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll, announced NSCAA officials Tuesday.

Lees-McRae (8-4-1, 7-1 Conference Carolinas) has enjoyed a strong start to the season in conference play, entering the week atop the league standings with a 7-1 record. The Bobcats have proven to be one of the nation’s top team on the attack this season, beginning the week ranked 18th in scoring offense (2.67) while also being listed 49th in goals against average (0.828).

Armstrong Atlantic State University continues to top the region with a 10-1-1 record, ranking second in the nation as No. 10 Columbus State University ranks second in the region with a 13-1-0 overall mark. Lenoir-Rhyne University (11-1-0) ranks third in the region and 19th in the nation, followed by Lander University (8-1-3) and Tusculum College (11-1-2).

University of North Carolina-Pembroke (7-4-2) is sixth, followed by Clayton State University (7-5-2), North Georgia College & State University (10-3-1), Lees-McRae, and Flagler College (7-4-3).

Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats travel to Salisbury, N.C. to take on Catawba College in non-conference play at 7 p.m.
