Junior goalkeeper Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, England) is ranked 19th in the nation in total saves, and the Lees-McRae College men’s soccer team is listed in eight individual and team categories in this week’s edition of the NCAA Division II men’s soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Wednesday.
Lees-McRae (3-7, 2-2 Conference Carolinas) enters the week ranked 36th in the nation in save percentage (0.800) and 42nd in saves per match (5.2) after registering a pivotal 2-1 victory over defending league champion Coker College in extra time on Saturday. The Bobcats are also ranked 73rd in shutout percentage (0.300) and 79th in team goals against average (1.27).
Rusling begins the week ranked 19th in total saves (49) and 33rd in stops per match (4.9), while also being listed 51st in save percentage (0.79) and 85th in goals against average (1.272).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Thursday when the Bobcats travel to Due West, S.C. to take on Erskine College in conference play at 7 p.m.
