April 15, 2013. The most fun you’ll have all summer long is at Sugar’s second annual SugarBrew, Saturday, August 3, or Sugar’s 23rd annual Oktoberfest, Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13.
Sample an array of craft, import and domestic beer and wines at this year’s SugarBrew. Listen to live music performances by local favorites, a selection of good ‘ole American style summer-time food will be available too. Of course any festival at Sugar offers ski-lift rides to its 5,300 ft. peak.

BBQ Boot Camp! July 19 through July 20 the North Carolina Barbecue Society will host BBQ Boot Camp at Sugar Mountain Resort. Exercise! This summer speed your way down narrow dirt trails on a mountain bike or increase your heart rate and improve overall physical fitness while climbing Sugar’s 1,200 foot vertical rise. The trail system which intertwines throughout the Village of Sugar Mountain can be used by hikers and bikers alike. Trail heads are accessible from many points throughout the Village. Daily usage is free of charge May 1 through October 20 from dawn until dusk. Trail maps are conveniently located at the base of Sugar Mountain and online at www.skisugar.com/summer/trailmap.pdf.
Soak in nature’s beauty while relaxing in a chairlift on your way to Sugar Mountain’s 5,300 foot summit. Scenic chairlift rides operate every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursday July 4th through Labor Day Sunday, September 1. Scenic vistas provide extraordinary views of North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Grandfather Mountain, Roan Mountain and beyond. For mountain bikers, hooks mounted on the back of the liftchairs carry bikes to the top of Sugar Mountain. One-time or all-day lift tickets are available as well as group tickets. Kids 4 and under ride free with a ticketed adult.
