A 6-6, 220-pound forward, Baskin spent his sophomore season at Chipola College in Marianna, Fla., where he played for coach Jake Headrick. In 24 games, Baskin notched 8.0 points on 43 percent field-goal shooting. He also contributed 3.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game while leading the squad to a 23-6 mark.

In 2010-11, Baskin saw action in 14 games at Quinnipiac. As a freshman, he averaged 2.9 points in 8.9 minutes per game. Baskin added 2.0 rebounds per game and blocked seven shots for the Bobcats, who posted a 22-10 mark and participated in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

A native of Stamford, Conn., Baskin starred for coach Mike Walsh at Trinity Catholic High School. He was a three-time all-state honoree and earned MVP honors in 2008 for leading his team to the FCIAC championship. The squad advanced to the state championship game in the same season. He scored 1,869 points and hauled in 920 rebounds to rank among the school’s best.

Baskin is the son of Yolanda Baskin and Donald Alexander and plans to major in communications.

Eaves comes to the High Country from Greensboro, N.C., where he was a standout player for coach Robert Kent at Page High School. The 6-2, 175-pound guard earned Metro 4-A Conference Player of the Year honors as well as N.C. Basketball Coaches Association District 7 Player of the Year accolades last season and was previously named the 2010 Pizza Hut Invitational Most Valuable Player.

Eaves averaged 20.5 points and five rebounds per game in high school to rack up more than 1,000 career points. He is the son of Jerry Eaves, who recently completed an eight-year stint as the head coach at North Carolina A&T. The elder Eaves also worked as an assistant coach in the NBA with three different teams and made his mark in the college ranks as well, with stints at Howard University, Indiana State and his alma mater, Louisville. Jerry Eaves led the Cardinals to the 1980 national championship as well as a Final Four appearance in 1982. He was a third-round draft pick by the Utah Jazz and played four seasons in the NBA before serving as a scout and beginning his coaching career.

Frank is one of Jerry and Sheila Eaves’ four children, along with older siblings Lee Anne and Ashley and younger brother Anthony. The incoming freshman plans on majoring in business and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.

The pair joins an incoming 2012-13 class that includes 6-8 Rantavious Gilbert (Albany, Ga./Monroe) 6-6 Arthur McMillan (Nashville, Tenn./Lawson State) and 6-8 Michael Obacha (Summerfield, N.C./High Point Christian).

After redshirting last season, Jay Canty (Jamestown, N.C./Xavier) also joins the fold for his sophomore campaign as the Apps look to replace a strong senior class that included three front court players in Isaac Butts, Petey Hausley and Andre Williamson as well as wing Omar Carter.
