Feb. 18, 2013. RALEIGH — Sunday’s baseball series finale between Appalachian State University and NC State was canceled due to lingering effects from Saturday’s winter storm in the Raleigh-Durham area.

Appalachian State (1-0) defeated eighth-ranked NC State (0-1), 6-3, in Friday’s season opener at Doak Field. Rain and snow that fell for much of the day on Saturday washed out the final two games of what was supposed to be a three-game series.

Appalachian hosts Canisius in the Mountaineers’ home opener on Monday at 3 p.m. at Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium in Boone.
