Jan. 9, 2015. Ready for another round of Midnight Blast at Appalachian Ski Mtn.? The next Midnight Blast sessions are this weekend, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 9 and 10.

During these special sessions, operating hours on the slopes are extended from 10 p.m. to midnight. In addition to the Midnight Blast, Appalachian Ski Mtn. offers a “half-night” ticket on Midnight Blast evenings. The ticket is good from 8:30 p.m. to midnight.

Appalachian Ski Mtn. Marketing Director Drew Stanley said the Midnight Blast sessions are perfect for folks looking for the “most bang for your buck” and also for those that may work later in the evening.

“I would say people looking for a value, this is definitely the most bang for your buck with the extended time. It’s also real convenient for people who might work say five to six. There’s still a couple hours to get ready, get on the mountain and still get a full session in,” Stanley said.

_DSC4274This winter season, Appalachian Ski Mtn. expanded its Midnight Blast offering to include Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 28 and Sundays on Jan. 18 and Feb. 15 – not to mention prior nights during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Appalachian Ski Mtn. General Manager Brad Moretz offered a similar point of view. He noted that for visitors that may travel to the High Country and arrive on the mountain late, their is still a full-session of skiing awaiting them.

“As the closest ski destination to significant markets within a two hour drive, such as Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point, Hickory, and Gastonia, we feel that Appalachian Ski Mtn. is in the best position to offer many skiers and riders a night option that wouldn’t otherwise be possible without a longer night session,” Moretz said.

Midnight Blast tickets cost $30 for adults; $16 for kids 12 and under or elders 60 and older; and $28 for students.

Half-night sessions cost $20 for adults; $16 for juniors or seniors; and $20 for students. See other rates here.
