App State Mountaineers Look To Win Six Straight, Face Idaho at Kidd Brewer Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 29

Nov. 26, 2014. Appalachian State Mountaineers look to win its sixth straight game on Saturday, Nov. 29, which happens to be Fan Appreciation/Senior Day.

ASU faces Idaho, which has only won one game in 10 appearances this season, at Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

Idaho, however, leads the Sun Belt Conference in passing yards per game, coming in averaging 280.4 yards per game, which is good enough for 22nd in the nation. But the Mountaineers defense gives up an average of only 194 passing yards per game, which is good for 23rd in the nation.

The Mountaineers are 6-5 overall but currently place third in the conference with an internal 5-2 record. Georgia Southern, which entered the Sun Belt Conference this year along with the Mountaineers, is undefeated in the conference and has an overall best record of 8-3. University of Louisiana-Lafayette is in second place with a 7-4 overall record.

Record aside, the Mountaineers are currently one of the best teams on both sides of the ball in the Sun Belt Conference. They are ranked second in the conference (and 33rd in the nation) in points per game. They are ranked second in the conference and 21st in the nation in rushing yards per game, and second in the conference and 28th in the nation in total yards per game.

On defense, the Mountaineers place in the top three in the conference in rushing yards allowed per game, passing yards allowed per game and total yards allowed per game.
