Feb. 5, 2014. Held on the first Wednesday in February, today is National Signing Day, when college football recruits make their commitments official by signing letters of intent to play for their respective school of choice.
Appalachian State University football coaches and other staff members with the athletics department have been wildly busy on what is amounting to a stellar, first-ever inaugural FBS recruiting class.
Check out the App State Football’s Twitter feed to see the action in real time and info on each of the new recruits. At 11:42, Shaedon Meadors, a three-star wide receiver from South Carolina. A big splash was made recently when Meadors noted his interest in the Mountaineers. On Wednesday, he picked the Mountaineers over Rutgers, leading recruiting coordinator Scot Sloan to tweet: “Weapons R loading up!!”
Coach Justin Stepp also tweeted after Meadors signing: “Big time news! @ShaedonMeadors is about to change this offense & this program.”
Commitments will be rolling in throughout the day. Check the list below for who had signed as of 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
Tonight at 6 p.m., App State TV airs its National Signing Day Show, hosted by “The Voice of the Mountaineers,” David Jackson, former ASU linebacker Karl Anderson and guest analyst Mike Holloway from 247Sports. The show will also feature exclusive interviews with head coach Scott Satterfield, recruiting coordinator Scot Sloan and the five members of the recruiting class that have already enrolled at App State and a breakdown of the entire recruiting class.
