For the third year, Allstate and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) recognized a select group of men’s college basketball student-athletes who stand out for their charitable achievements and community service activities. The players nominated for this prestigious honor are committed to enriching the lives of others while contributing to the greater good of their communities.

Allstate and the NABC are honored to announce Obacha to this year’s team. Obacha boasts an impressive resume of community service accomplishments, which include:

  • Starting a shoe drive for impoverished children in Nigeria
  • Collecting basketballs and nets for children in Nigeria

From this year’s record number of 158 nominees, a final roster of 10 award recipients – comprised of five players from the Division I level and five players from Divisions II, III and the NAIA – were selected by a special voting panel headlined by former Duke University student-athlete, two-time NCAA champion and seven-time NBA All-Star Grant Hill.

Members of the Allstate NABC Good Works Team will be invited by the NABC and Allstate, an official corporate partner of the NCAA, to the 2015 NCAA Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis, where they will participate in a community project benefitting the city.
