by Madison V. Fisler

Aug. 2, 2013. It looks like its blue skies and warm air for the annual Crafts on the Green in Beech Mountain, which is held each year on the first Saturday in August.

The annual event, held at Gazebo Park beside Fred’s General Mercantile in Beech Mountain will feature vendors from all across the High Country showcasing their wares including jewelry, wood crafts, photography, paintings, sculptures, pottery and much more for guests to admire and purchase.

Musical entertainment by Diana and Sirdus Ridge will be starting at 11:00 a.m. Storyteller Linda Spitzer will also be present to perform at 10:30 a.m. and again at noon. There will also be a magic show this year for the kids.

The free event will feature ice cream, lemonade, hot dogs and even baked goods. At Fred’s General Mercantile there will be a hamburger cookout going on, just like every Saturday.

This is free for everyone including parking. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and run all day until 4 p.m.
